Got an Extra $16,000 Lying Around?

An email piece I received from Apple inspired me to write this… It’s not really business, marketing or really anything related – but it is about being a little bored, curious and the possibility of spending money.

So, here’s the email…To me it says, “SUPER CRAZY FREAKING FAST COMPUTER FOR SALE!”

Bored and trying to practice a little work avoision (yes, it’s a word – kind of), I clicked on the ad, went to the configurator to MAX THIS SUCKER OUT!

What did I find???

I found I could spend upwards of $16,000…Holy Crap – That’s A Lot of GREEN! (excuse my French – I just had to say it because that’s more than 1988 money for a loaded IBM 386 Clone – they were only $5,000 with a “200 Megabyte Drive and 4 Megs of RAM – huge 200 pound 17″ monitor not included”.)

Could it possibly be worth it? Maybe… How fast is it? You can probably cook pancakes on it because it has to be blazing fast…

This is truly a movie making machine! Think of all the YouTube videos you could make….

And man, what would YOU do with all the hard drive space?

So, here’s the config, fully loaded (minus software and Fiber Channel card and storage array of course) and BAM – $15,585.00 US (before tax)…

There are a few awesome things here – but the BEST one of them all is the FREE SHIPPING! For $16k+ after tax for a box that weighs less than 20 pounds, I’d freaking hope so!
